This story really touched me as I spent 6 weeks in harborview in 1995 fighting for my life and right leg also. As a child I always told people I wouldn't live past 25 and I spent my 25th birthday in the hospital with the flesh eating bacteria. I feel so lucky to be here and to still have my leg, barely. It is so scarred from all the stuff they cut out but its still there. Sometimes I think it would be easier to tell people I was attacked by a shark rather than try to explain what it was. People have no clue and wonder if its still somehow contagious. I really wish that there was more media attention and information about it. There aren't even support groups for people who have survived this. I have wished for years there was. My thoughts and prayers are with little Zoey. I really feel connected to this little girl in some way knowing what she will have to go through.
ReplyDeleteAs a parent of a two year old, I can't imagine going through this. I know that Jesus can bring peace that passes all understanding. I'm so grateful that our God is Sovereign. Our family will be praying for Zoey and the rest of the family. My brother was in Children's 20 years ago over a six year period...so I know the place well...They are awesome...your in good hands there. May the Lord give you peace and strength and may you keep trusting Him and put your faith in Him
